Book Talk with Local Author and Historian Richard Wines
Flanders Village Historical Society is hosting an author talk and book signing by Richard A. Wines at the David W. Crohan Community Center, 655 Flanders Road (Route 24), Flanders, on Thursday, April 23, 7:00 PM. “A Farm Family on Long Island’s North Fork: The Lost World of the Hallocks and Their Sound Avenue Community” was released last May. The author traces the history of a vital agricultural community on the North Fork of Long Island through the story of the last family to live in the old Homestead at the Hallockville Museum Farm. After Mr. Wines speaks and answers questions from the audience, he will remain on hand to greet individuals and sign books, which will be available for purchase.

Annual Tag Sale at Big Duck Ranch
Friends of The Big Duck and Flanders Village Historical Society plan to team up again to hold the Fourth Annual Tag Sale at Big Duck Ranch, 1012 Flanders Road (Route 24), Flanders. The grass field behind The Big Duck will be filled with tables of gently used household items, home décor, small furniture, antiques and collectibles. Admission is free.
